Dinosaur Storytime
Books:
Edwina - The Dinosaur Who Didn't Know She Was Extinct by Mo Willems
How Do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food by Jane Yolen and Mark Teague
A Number of Dinosaurs by Paul and Henrietta Strickland (This was used in toddler time instead of Edwina)
Flannel Boards:
So fun! So easy! So cute! I also had a coloring page for them as well. And to avoid anyone being poked in the eye, the sticks were handed out after everyone sat down and handed to the adults only.

Dinosaur vs. Bedtime by Bob Shea

Flannel Boards:
Five Little Dinosaurs
Five little dinosaurs, trying hard to roar,
One stomped away, and then there were four.
Four little dinosaurs, hiding near a tree,
One stomped away, and then there were three.
Three little dinosaurs, peeking out at you,
One stomped away, and then there were two.
Two little dinosaurs, ready now to run,
One stomped away, and then there was one.
One little dinosaur, not having any fun,
He went away, and then there were none.
One Dinosuar
There is one dinosaur,
Crashing through the trees.
One dinosaur, eating all he sees.
He takes a bite of the mountain top,
And along, comes a friend
With a crash, bang, plop.
Now there's two dinosaurs,
Crashing through the trees.
Crash, bang, smash.
(Repeat for 2,3,4.)
Songs:
Dino Hokey Pokey
You put your dino foot in, you put your dino foot out.
You put your dino foot in, and you shake it all about.
You do the dino pokey, and you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about.
You put your dino wings in, you put your dino wings out.
You put your dino wings in, and you flap them all about.
You do the dino pokey, and you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about.
Continue with sharp horns (poke them all about), dino tail (swish it all about), and dino self!
The flannel board rhymes and the dino pokey were cortesy of Addison Library's Dino packet.
Craft:
I went the easy route this time. We had ordered some items from Oriental Trading and one happened to be their Dinosuar Magic Color Scratch Ornament.
So fun! So easy! So cute! I also had a coloring page for them as well. And to avoid anyone being poked in the eye, the sticks were handed out after everyone sat down and handed to the adults only.
