Power and technology

Well so it seems that we really do rely on technology more and more and yet something as simple as ice can take it all away. The great news for libraries is that our numbers go up when the power goes out. Our branch was packed this past week and people looked for places to have meetings, eat their food, read by light and of course check on their facebook status's. But along with the increased people comes increased waiting time for the Internet which equals RAISED TEMPERS. That whole week in September was awful and now without power people do not have heat which makes all of us much crankier, myself included.
So with our increased independence on technology what do we do with the fact that wind or even ice can take it all away?

Very thankful for my power and heat back! No more camping inside.
